In the Spotlight: Delicious Allsorts

Tell us a little about the person behind the business? My name is Ronda, I live in Adelaide, Im 33 years old with an Italian and Aboriginal nationality background. Im a mother of 2 very boystrous boys or 3 if you include their dad lol. My boys are exactly born 9 years apart and share the same birthday, Im glad tho they share the same day as it brings them closer together due to the big age gap.

I love creating all sorts of crafty creations and love all things pretty, I cant go into a shop without buying craft stickers or paperstack :-) I think my favourite to create to gift cards I havent brought a gift card for someone in many years as I always like to make my own, its so much more personal and thoughtful.

And now a little about the business itself? Delicious Allsorts formally known as Ronda’s bits and bobs if full of my crafty creations ranging from Dot Paintings, Jewellery, Gift cards for all occasions, Paperbag scrapbook albums, craft supplies and preloved quality goods. Handmade by me for you

I have heaps of new products coming soon and new arrivals being completed regualry, I have paypal available for your convenience and please feel free to make requests for personalised gifts

How did you come up with your business name? My first business name was Ronda’s bits and bobs for sale as my name is Ronda and I have a variety of goods and I’ve always called it bits and bobs BUT I become bored with Rondas bits and bobs since being on facebook and reading shoutouts and tags for other pages, some of such gorgeous names and I was sitting on my computer one night and Delicious Allsorts just came to mind which fits my business perfect as I have allsorts available and they are delish :-)

What made you want to begin a WAH business and how did you get started? My home situation steered me to working at home, I am surviving some medical conditions that I battle on a daily basis and working in a ‘normal’ job was becoming very difficult and I had to resign. Ive had wonderful career opportunities but working for myself is the best ever, I have my own times, can sleep in the mornings great on these cold winer mornings :-) I began as I love making gift card and making most of the gifts I give, so I started at gift cards and paperbag scrapbooks

What motivates you to keep your business going? Im gonna be honest here, money and bills keeps me going lol, the bills dont stop coming in :-) plus I LOVE the feedback I get from a customer about how much they love my product they have purchased and its great motivation to create more and other ideas stem from previous creations so Im always creating something :-)

It also helps me by keeping busy and keeping my mind of my medical conditions and getting out there to buy more stock and enjoy going to all sorts of retail shops and markets looking for unique stock to create with.

Do you have a current best-selling product or service? My main product is Paperbag scrapbook albums, I love personalising them to the customers requirements and hearing their great feedback

How do you advertise your business and which methods have proven more successful? As I am only currently selling on facebook I only advertise on facebook. I will be setting up stalls at markets very soon which I will be publishing flyers and business cards and hopefully one day soon a website.

I plan on advertising at my local shops on notice boards, the local newspaper and resourcing suitable magazines.

How do you juggle your family and your WAH business? Any tips for other WAHP’s? I would love some tips here please, I find WAH and my time organisational skills chaos as my youngest is almost 2 so my time is juggled around his sleeping times and when he ‘lets’ me work lol

I have to admit some days I’d rather create than do housework and some days I do just that…create first housework later :-) most nights I dont get to bed b4 midnight, just never enough hours in the day.

What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start a WAH business? Id so go for it and if your a bit nervous about my favourite saying is….your courage is stronger than your fear.

It may take a while to get fully established but well worth all the effort and if it makes you happy then its all worth the while :-)

Do you offer any discounts to Support a WAHP fans? I’m aways happy to offer specials, I have free postage on my paperbag scrapbook albums :-)
