In the Spotlight: Eternal Memories Wooden Flowers

Tell us a little about the person behind the business? My name is Kristie. I am a wife to a great husband and mum to 3 little ones; 2 girls Charlie 4yrs and Cleo 2.5yrs and my newest addition Connor 1mth. I love being a mum and my days are kept pretty busy.

And now a little about the business itself? Eternal Memories Wooden Flowers is where you can get a bouquet the is different from the rest. Our bouquets are for any occasion whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary or even your wedding. All our bouquets can be custom made in any of our colours.

We currently only stock wooden roses but are looking at lilies and tulips in the future.

How did you come up with your business name? When you look at my bouquets I want people to remember that special day when they received them, and since they won’t die in a couple of days like real flowers I created the name Eternal Memories Wooden Flowers.

What made you want to begin a WAH business and how did you get started? During my third pregnancy, my husband and I discussed whether I should return to work. We both decided that this was not realistic. I told him about the wooden roses and he could see that I was passionate about them.

I got a small amount to test in a friends shop and was surprised about how well they went and the feedback was very positive.

What motivates you to keep your business going? Having the flexibility to do something that I enjoy as well as spending time with my kids and my (very supportive) husband.

Do you have a current best-selling product or service? Since this is still a new business I haven’t got a best-seller. However, the feedback I’m receiving suggests that my bridal bouquets will do very well.

How do you advertise your business and which methods have proven more successful? Facebook and word-of-mouth have been the main forms of advertising. I have some bouquets in a friends shop and on ebay.

I am currently in the process of making my website, so hoping that will be up and running soon.

How do you juggle your family and your WAH business? Any tips for other WAHP’s? I sometimes wish I was an octopus, LOL!!! A lot of the work I try to do at night so I can concentrate of the kids during the day, but this is not always the case. My eldest two have childcare 1 day a week so that helps. I also have help from my parents and in-laws.

And finally, what advice would you give to anyone wanting to start a WAH business? Follow your dreams, have fun and good-luck.Location: Pakenham, Victoria

  1. Would like it much if you could inform me if these are available for memorials and what sort of delivery dates are there to Adelaide, they look so good and would like them to compliment my business and perhaps even put a link between our sites as at the moment there is only porcelain flowers available, Thank you John…
