   I like this idea, and it’s worked well for my photography business on The Mummy Tree facebook page. I guess the only issue might be that some businesses fall under a few different days. For example, ‘photography’ is on thursdays, but it could also go under ‘modern art’ on wednesdays. Another example could be that beaded jewellery could go under ‘beaded jewellery and supplies’ on monday, and ‘jewellery’ on wednesdays. I’m not sure if you view this as an issue, but I guess it just means that some businesses may have more chance than others to promote their business. Another option may be to have a day for ‘tangible products’ eg. clothes, jewellery etc, and a day for ’services’ eg. design, massage etc. Then maybe you could do a day for businesses involved in fundraising or charity.
   But however you chose to do it I guess it will never quite be fair, because there’s so many different types of businesses! The only other thing I can think of is to work through the alphabet, and you post according to the first letter of your actual business/page name!

   I agree with Shevaughn – my business would go under “modern cloth nappies & accessories” on Wednesday, but I also sell other baby accessories which is on Monday – perhaps organise the categories so for example, the modern cloth nappies will go on the same day as the other baby categories, but there are a lot of varied categories so that could be hard! I’m sure you’ll figure out the best system that works for you

   I did a big post and it didn’t work damnit.
   Essentially I think it comes back to getting some form of order and decongestion to the facebook page and giving everyone a fair opportunity without getting lost. The system will certainly help with that regardless of how you implement.
   On the multiple categories thing, you can do it a few ways:
   Put the onus on the business to pick one and post on that day (and be honest about not posting again). You can mention your other products/services in that one post.
   Allow up to 2/3 category relevant posts.

   Regardless of which way you choose, you will never please everyone and need to go with what will work for the group and posters as a whole (and what helps your sanity!)

   What others have said sounds great Amanda and your categories are a good idea to keep your sanity but you might need to implement some rules such as to only post your business in one category a week except for free for all day maybe. You will still get people post randomly Im sure and not check what day is what lol but it will get around that this is what you are doing and will get easier for you we all love what you do and love to help you in any way we can to help us hehe if that makes any sence

   Thanks ladies! I think I am going to implement this new system and soon too as it’s beginning to get out of control. I would really like to be able to put more into promoting the paid advertisers as well and this might give me that chance as I won’t be worrying about everyone else as much.

   Now, to sort out these categories. I would really like to keep similar categories together so I’ll work on that for now. So much to do!!! Thanks again all.

   Brilliant idea Amanda. I also like the way you have grouped them together too. Similar businesses together, and the day I fall into is a good combo

   Looks like a good idea to me, and the categories seem to work. You will always get people who will post whenever they feel like it, I don’t think you should have too many problems if you ask people to stick to the most appropriate day for their business and also the general day. Surely 2 days a week is enough for people. I agree that you need to have the time to look after the people you support you with paid ads…also, the day I fall into is great!!

    I like the look of the ammended list. it will reduce the number of posts a day and therefore hopefully help people find what their looking for
