Guest Post: I miss reading about you… Facebook Statuses

facebookpagepostssq

Erin Dawson from Dawson Documents Virtual Assistant posted this terrific blog post on our page the other day and I thought it was important enough for everyone in our newsfeed to read so have asked her if she wanted to guest blog it here on Support a WAHP, to which she said “yes!” If you’ve noticed your page activity quieting down a bit lately, this may be why!

Are you busy being busy just for the sake of it?

I respect people who want to DIY their branding and websites etc, after all, that’s exactly what I did. However, to be honest, if you try to DIY and you don’t have the skills to do it, you’re not going to do your business any favours. If you’re serious about growing your business, then you really need to look at hiring specialists as an investment rather than an expense. You wouldn’t expect brain surgeons to offer their services for free so why is it any different with social media or marketing specialists (life-threatening conditions aside)?

How to keep your great customers and clients coming back

responsiveness

In the age of social media, customer feedback is instantaneous and if a client has a negative experience, they’ll spread the news faster than you can boot up your iMac. It is, therefore, imperitive that you establish processes to ensure you respond to requests, questions, problems, set-backs and stuff-ups appropriately and in a timely manner. Creating a responsive culture can enhance your reputation, profitability and, importantly, the longevity of your client relationships.

Who are you aligned with?

This morning I had a phone call from another business wanting to work with me on a project. After listening to her for quite some time I felt the need to tell her that I didn’t feel working with her in the way she wanted was in alignment with my business philosophy and I wished her well. I should have ended the conversation there and then, but the people pleaser inside failed to hang up.

Why social media marketing is child’s play

I think sometimes we over think how to use social media for our businesses. It is easy to get caught up in the numbers and sales and forget that really, it’s about connecting and conversing, sharing and experimenting.

What’s your news? Posting on Facebook Pages

posting on facebook pages

On the Support a WAHP Facebook page, many businesses write posts in marketing speak but the problem is that even on Facebook promotional pages such as ours, relational, newsy posts are more likely to get noticed. The purpose of this post is to get you thinking differently about the way you write about your business both on and off Facebook.
